Volunteer Job Descriptions
Car Repair
Job Description: 1) check car for needed repairs and advise CWJC of need and best estimate of cost. 2) Refer participant to reputable and low cost mechanics
Time Commitment: 2 -4 hours bi-monthly
Childcare
Job Description:
Childcare Worker - Provide childcare for preschool or school age children up to 6th grade while mothers attend classes. Sunday School teachers may teach the lesson they gave to their class the previous Sunday.
Childcare Teacher
Coordinate, plan and direct activities and volunteers who minister to children of participants during class time.
Time Commitment: 2 - 4 Hours a Week (or as scheduled with Satellite Coordinator)
Church Liaison - Volunteer Solicitor
Job Description:
Develop a network in the churches for promoting volunteer needs, prayer needs, and current and upcoming events at CWJC.
Time Commitment: 1 -2 Hours Monthly
Class Greeter
Job Description:
Greet volunteers and participants as they arrive for classes.
Time Commitment: 1-1/2 Hour on Days Scheduled with Satellite Coordinator (once a week, bi-monthly etc)
Clerical
Job Description:
Miscellaneous short-term taks such as copying, database input, followup with volunteers, bulk mailing. Have your name put in the data base for contact as needed.
Time Commitment: As Volunteer schedule permits.
Computer Teacher/Tutor
Job Description:
Tutor CWJC computer class participants in basic computer skills, including logon and navigating systems, basic word and excel.
Time Commitment: 2 Hours Per Class Session, Scheduled per Volunteer availability with Satellite Coordinator
ESL Teacher/Tutor
Job Description:
ESL tutor for Hispanic men and women participants at Williamson County Satellite

Fundraising Event Committee
Job Description:
Participate on Annual Fundraising Committee
Time Commitment: 1-2 Hours Per Week Beginning September through the Fundraiser the following April or May.

Jobs for Life Teacher
Job Description:
Training provided to women living at The Next Door (recently released from incarceration) to help them prepare to be work-ready utilizing both business skills and faith-based life grounding. Curriculum provided.
Time Commitment: Each course consists of 16 weeks. Teachers may alternate weeks with another volunteer teacher or substitute when available as needed. Class is 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. each Tuesday.
Jobs Placement Coordinator
Job Description:
Contact companies and arrange an interview to discuss partnering for job placement. Develop a partnership for ongoing placement opportunities.
Time Commitment: 2-4 Hours Per Month
Job Search Skills
Job Description:
Work one on one and/or with class participants in resume writing/updating resume, job search, interview practice, roundtable business representative and work savvy readiness.
Time Commitment: One - Two Hours bi-monthly.
Life Skills
Job Description:
Work one on one and/or with full class on Budgeting, Financial Management, Time Management, etc
Time Commitment: One- Two Hours bi-monthly
Mentor
Job Description:
Meet with a participant each week to encourage, support, network, and pray with her about the goals she wants to reach through CWJC.
Time Commitment: 4-Hour Training, reading one book, and 1 hour-meeting per week with participant for one year.
Prayer Mentor
Job Description:
Encourage, support and present the needs of a CWJC participant before the Lord weekly.
Time Commitment: 30 minutes for three weeks in a month and one hour once a month for a minimum of one semester
Snack Provider
Job Description:
Provide snacks for children during evening classes as many come directly from childcare without a meal. This can be a group or individual volunteer activity.
Time Commitment: Once per week per classes semester.
Soliciting
Job Description:
Contact potential funders to CWJC for monetary, time, or other contributions.
Time Commitment: 2-4 Hours Per Year

Job Description:
Arrange celebration, including holiday treats, bags, card, or gift to participants during the class time or other scheduled celebration for the following holidays or events:
